23rd May 2005 Windsurfing: Bigbury Wind Direction: SSW Wind Stength: F3-4 Surf / Sea State: 1-3ft Air Temperature: 17 Sea Temperature: OK Weather: Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: After missing what was forecast to be an epic weekend to go to a wedding in Newcastle I was looking forward to the Monday I'd booked off to catch the last of the weather. Got to the beach and Dave from Reactive was out on a 5.7 looking distinctly under powered. Wouldn't have bothered normally but it was a nice day so why not. Opted for the 6.2 with the big wave board to go and play in the on shore mush. Wobbled out opposite the River Mouth where the waves were getting to 3ft but the wind was only teasing. Managed to get planing a few times and even got a jump but it was all on apparent wind. Got very close to a push tack on one run in so it wasn't a complete waste. Would have been a one star if it hadn't have been for the sunshine (even got burnt) and some snappy tacks in fluky conditions. |
